An obvious first association is with neolithic gravesites and alignments: menhirs and dolmans marking an obscure geometry across the farmland of Bretagne. Yet, this work is something less than that, and also something else. The artistic awareness that the stones belie - they seem "just so" - points to Japan, to style, to calling forth powers of the natural world through moments of intentional forgetting.
